Ostia Antica

Ostia Antica: the ruins of the former port town of ancient Rome provide the perfect backdrop for an exploration of daily life in the ancient city. We can see how the Romans actually lived, what their family and home life were like, what and how they ate, how they thought of themselves, related to others, what they believed in and how they wanted to be remembered. We can try walking in their sandals, focusing on differences and similarities between their world and ours. A few hours in Ostia Antica also provide a perfect break from the busy city. The ruins are surrounded by wonderful Mediterranean greenery, fresh air and tranquility; an ideal place to collect one’s thoughts and embrace the magic of travel through space and time.
