Palazzo Massimo: This branch of the National Roman Museum has a world class collection of ancient Roman art unearthed in archaeological digs in the city and its environs in the 19th and 20th century. Extraordinary frescoes (the best on display anywhere in a museum context), marble and bronze sculpture, and mosaics that will allow us to to identify the key themes and intentions, technical aspects and context of ancient Roman art in a pleasant, vital manner.
